In-home disability support in Melbourne's north-east
Careable provides NDIS-funded in-home support for people with disability across Melbourne's north-east. We assist with personal care, household tasks, meal preparation and skills development — all in your own home.
Shifts start from 3 hours, and support is available 24/7, including weekends and overnight. We can usually start within about a week, once we've met and have what we need. We aim to keep the same small team of workers with each person, so you're not explaining yourself to someone new every week.

What is in-home support?
In-home support is NDIS-funded daily living assistance provided in your own home. It includes personal care, household tasks, meal preparation and skills development. Support is tailored to your goals and can range from a few hours a week to daily assistance.
We support participants whose plans are NDIA-managed, plan-managed or self-managed.

High intensity support
Careable is registered with the NDIS Commission for high intensity daily personal activities and audited against the NDIS Practice Standards for this work. We provide urinary catheter care under a nurse-assessed care plan:
- nursing assessment and high intensity risk assessment before support starts
- support from workers individually assessed as competent
- daily fluid intake and output monitoring, and a personal emergency plan

Which part of my NDIS plan pays for it?
In most current plans, in-home support is paid from your Core budget, under Assistance with Daily Life. Community access is also Core funding, under Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation. NDIS plan rules are changing through 2026 and 2027, so check your own plan, or ask us or your support coordinator.
